My name is Mandy Nguyen and I'm currently a junior from Elkins High School. I live in Houston, TX, and I love the diversity of cultures and languages that we share amongst one another. I love drawing, skateboarding, gaming, and talking to new people. Especially during these hard times in quarantine, getting a proper education can be quite difficult. Nonetheless, I am grateful for the opportunities I've been given and wish to encourage education globally.

I'm quite outgoing when I'm comfortable. Even with unknown people I still tend to talk a bit excessively. I've worked with children and kids before since I'm a leader at my youth ministry and have experienced teaching people as I have also tutored students at my school on how to play the violin.

I am a incoming junior from Stephen Austin High School. I love painting, dancing and singing and have been doing them all my life. I am someone who is hardworking, determined, and passionate but also have learned to improve her time management skills. Since the beginning of high school I realized that I love working with kids when I did the Seva international internship where I taught kids whose first language wasn’t English for three months. I also took a trip to India where I was able to volunteer and help the kids in the village by entertaining them and teaching them how to read. Both of these where amazing experiences and is why I am doing this tutoring program in the first place. When I am passionate about something I will find a way to work through that passion and do as much as I can until I am 100 percent satisfied.

Hi! My name is Jasmine Panjwani and I'll be a junior this school year. Some things I enjoy are going on bike rides, spending time with my family and friends, swimming, and reading. In the future, I plan to be a lawyer for either criminal or international affairs. I want to be a tutor and be a part of the UCAN organization because I believe that everyone around the world should have access to quality education and I would love to help and be a part of the cause.

On the weekdays you can usually catch me studying and in club meetings and on the weekend you can find me either with friends or curled up on the couch rewatching New Girl while knitting! :)

Hi, my name is Sophia Pirani and I'm a rising junior at Stephen F. Austin High School in Sugar Land, TX! I am an avid studier during the week, a teacher on the weekends, as well as a painter in the time I have left. In fact, I co-founded an organization called Painted Hope where we raise money for small foundations trying to cure rare diseases. I strive to be a doctor in the future where I can help make an impact as well as do what I love most in life- helping others who need it most. I want to join UCAN because I want to help make a difference in someone else's life for the better. I am passionate about helping make the world a better place for everyone in it and UCAN helps do just that.
